   About This Project

Lost Kiddy Found is a feature length student film written and directed by Frank Quatrone. It started as a short film made for a class project, and after making it's way through a variety of film festivals in New Mexico and Brazil, Frank adapted his 8 page screenplay into an 81 page feature and began approaching production with a group of his fellow film students.

The Dark World of Lost Kiddy Found

The idea of using coded missing pet posters originated several years back, when Frank was living in Bellevue, WA. Him and his mom noticed that there were an abundance of posters all around town, and curiously enough, most of them seemed to share a very specific style of format. Always looking for interesting theories, they discussed the potential of this being some sort of underground form of communication used to advertise black market products or services. Perhaps different animals could represent different products or services, and the descriptions of the animal could have a subtle second meaning? Of course, this was nothing more than a fictional theory, but the idea stuck with Frank, and as he was off to film school, he became determined to write the concept into a film.

With Lost Kiddy Found focusing on a topic as twisted as kiddy snuff films,  Frank himself admits "this is by far the darkest, grittiest thing I have ever written," but what many fail to realize is that there is a surprising amount of heart in this film. "This is a film I wrote while still grieving the deaths of several childhood friends, as well as a very close family member that passed while I was still writing it," Frank recalls in an interview. "Because of this, you'll notice a lot of undertones of grief, coping with death, and wrapping your head around tragedy throughout the film. It's really a manifesto of how I deal with death and my mindset while in grief."
